A small seaside town 37 km from Taranto, where you can spend a seaside holiday without fail. With its wide sandy strip, it extends along the western coast of the Gulf of Taranto. Behind it the vast area of the Mediterranean scrub dotted with Aleppo pines.
The beaches, free and equipped, are ideal for families. The town finds its origins in 1200 when it became a refuge for farmers forced to flee from pirate raids. As evidence of those years, the districts of the historic center of Sacco and Muricello, the Cathedral dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption and the more recent Episcopal Palace. Here it is possible to visit the birthplace of Rudolph Valentino, a myth of silent cinema of the 1920s.
